At the beginning, the Honda Civic EG was the result of a collaboration between Honda and Hot Wheels, first showcased at GIIAS 2024.
The Honda Civic EG model is one of the most iconic models from the fifth generation of the Honda Civic, known for its aerodynamic hatchback body design that emphasizes a sporty look. With elongated headlights and rounded curves, this car presents a modern appearance that inspires the culture of modification. The exterior of this car is designed with exclusive design elements, including legendary liveries often used in racing.
In addition to the Honda Civic EG, at IMX 2024, Honda also featured the Honda Civic Type R Spoon Sport, which boasts a more aggressive and aerodynamic look. This car was modified by Drivetech with exterior modifications that include carbon fiber components such as front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and a rear spoiler. These modifications reduce the vehicle's weight, contributing to improved handling and acceleration. In terms of interior design, modifications were made to the steering wheel and Duracon shift knob to enhance the sporty appearance.
At IMX 2024, Honda displayed the Honda Civic Type R Spoon Sport alongside the Honda Civic EG to showcase a more aggressive and aerodynamic look. Interior modifications include a sportier appearance with customized steering wheels and Duracon shift knobs.
In this IMX edition, Honda also showcased a modified version of the popular Honda Brio with powertrain enhancements by Engine+ Motorsports. This car features a K24 2.4L inline-four engine borrowed from the Civic Type R, producing up to 300 HP, paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
Furthermore, the modified Honda Brio also includes enhancements in vehicle control with two-way adjustable coilovers, AP Racing front brakes, Yokohama ADVAN NEOVA tires, and Aragosta suspension. The interior is equipped with a Momo Type R steering wheel, Recaro seats, Scroth safety belts, and a roll cage.
"The cars exhibited at this year's IMX represent Honda's enduring product character that remains a consumer favorite over time. They not only have reliable engines but also have timeless designs appreciated by various generations. In addition, our booth at Honda features various exciting activities, including competitions specific to the community," said Yulian Karfili, Communication Strategy Sub-Div Head PT HPM, in his statement quoted on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
